1. Who we are
TravelUps is the booking service; the bus and driver are provided by our partner operator in Korea. Both are joint controllers of the data needed to run your trip.
2. What we collect
When you make a booking we collect:
- Your name, email and phone number, so we can confirm the booking and reach you on the day.
- Your country of residence and preferred language, so the operator can match a guide or host you can communicate with.
- Trip details — date, group size, pick-up point, destinations, and any notes you leave.
- For seat-based tours: the names and nationality of each passenger, as required by the operator for safety lists.
- A booking reference and the locale of the site you used.
3. What we do not collect
We do not store card numbers, CVVs or PayPal account details. Card details are handled entirely by PayPal. We do not require an account, do not use tracking advertising cookies, and do not sell your data.
4. Who we share it with
We share the minimum information needed for your trip:
- The partner bus operator and your assigned driver, so the trip can run. They see your name, group size, pick-up details and any notes.
- Your guide or host, who needs your contact and language preference.
- PayPal, which handles the payment. They see what is needed to process it.
- Authorities, where Korean law requires it (e.g. DMZ visitor lists).
5. How long we keep it
Booking records are kept for up to 5 years to handle refunds, disputes and tax records, then deleted. You can request earlier deletion using the contact below; we will keep only what tax law requires.
6. Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Use the Find Booking page to look up your details, or contact us through the Help page.
7. Security
Booking data is stored on Cloudflare D1 in the Asia-Pacific region with access limited to operators and our support team. All site traffic is encrypted (HTTPS).
8. Contact
For any privacy question, contact us through the Help page.
